A Unique Dining Experience

Lora & Jors

In 2010, I found two old buses (a Thames and Ford with nose), Lora, left alone on a farm and Jors left in a bus graveyard in Lesotho. Had them towed to Fouriesburg and had this great idea to restore them and convert them into a kitchen and dining area.

Beautifully decorated with unusual enamel fittings, natural stained cement floors, white bed linen, towels and Sechewshwe fabrics. We offers a unique dining experience on site. Our guests are enchanted by the experience and keep coming back.

The buses offer a relaxed and intimate space where we serve breakfast and home cooked dinners. It is however, not a regular restaurant with a menu to choose from.  It is essential to book the meals in advance - as the area needs to be prepared beforehand. We quote on request.

The Bus Diner

  • Serves a maximum 8 adults and 4 children.
  • The space can be booked by guests for romantic dinners for two, celebrating anniversaries, etc...
  • Groups of guests staying at the cottages, can use the bus as a braai area, get togethers, etc...
  • Is equiped with an air conditioner for hot summers and a small stove/fireplace which is a winner in winter.

Surroundings

The area around the buses look beautiful at night with candle lights everywhere, in the bus and surrounding the garden area, which makes it a romantic and unique space in Fouriesburg.

The view at the cottages overlook Ventersberg and from the busses you look out over the valley between Fouriesburg and Clarens with the Maluti mountains of Lesotho in the background. In winter the Maluti Mountains  are often snow capped.

Guests, tourists, visitors and passers by, love the buses, it is always a favourite for photos and social media share
